Ticket Terms and Policies:

Those who have obtained tickets to the 2013 National Christmas Tree Lighting are subject to the National Park Service’s Terms of Use and Acquisition printed below.

Those obtaining tickets to the 2013 National Christmas Tree Lighting assume all responsibility for allowing others access to the tickets awarded them and are solely responsible to ensure the tickets awarded them are not duplicated. Tickets must be presented in a full and complete state. Do not rip, tear, or cut, or they may be considered void.

The sale or attempted sale of these tickets is prohibited and if discovered will result in the ticket(s) being voided. The sale or attempted sale of these tickets is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. Tickets purchases from unauthorized sources may be lost, stolen or counterfeit, and if so, are also void. No refunds/exchanges. Tickets lost or stolen cannot be replaced. Ticket may not be used for advertising promotion (including contests and sweepstakes), or other trade purposes.

No pets are allowed except service animals.

The event is expected to take place rain or shine. Ticket holders bear all risk including cancellation of the event and of inclement weather.

The National Park Service reserves the right to refuse admission or to remove any person who fails to comply with these Ticket Terms of Use as well as applicable National Park Service regulations, District of Columbia or Federal law for conduct deemed illegal by the United States Park Police, Unites States Secret Service or the National Park Service. Persons entering the ticketed area are also subject to search at the United States Secret Service posted checkpoints for the restricted items listed on the back of the ticket.


Please be advised that this is an outdoor rain or shine event and attendees should monitor local forecasts for the Washington, D.C. area and dress for the weather conditions.

Restricted Items:

Ticket holders are reminded that aerosols of any kind, fireworks/firecrackers, animals (except guide dogs), duffel bags/suitcases/backpacks/coolers, real or simulated weapons/ammunition, knives of any kind, mace/pepper spray, laser lights/pointers and glass containers, chairs of any kind are prohibited. This list may not be all-inclusive. Law enforcement personnel reserve the right to prohibit any other items determined to be a potential public safety hazard. Strollers, wheelchairs and diaper bags are allowed, but guests should be prepared for a search of all items carried onto the site.
