The Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center: Picasso’s Loft Class and Lil’ Rembrandt Classes
Kentucky’s ornaments were designed by students ages 6 to 12 in several classes at The Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center. The project inspired the students to study about the State of Kentucky symbols such as the State Bird and butterfly. One class focused on national parks, making collages with photos of parks and stickers of national parks and embellished with acrylic paint. The other class used Model Magic and natural materials, to create vignettes of a Kentucky Christmas including horses, a bear, a quilt, a log cabin, and even a snowman head in the shape of the state of Kentucky. The Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center is a non-profit school founded by Margaretta Baker Hunt in 1922 to inspire the arts and community.
