Maryland’s decorations are Muppet-inspired ornaments designed and created by students at Glenwood Middle School in Howard County Maryland. The students used needle felting to fashion ornaments that looked like they might have come from the mind of Jim Henson, the puppeteer who created the Muppets and many of the characters on Sesame Street. Henson grew up in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park. Glenwood sixth, seventh and eighth graders used a combination of sheep wool and various yarns to make their ornaments.
