This year’s SC ornament concept was created under the direction of Colored Pencil artist Sylvester Hickmon and the teachers and students from Sumter District’s three High Schools. The inspiration for the ornaments came from South Carolina’s most notable and historic landmarks, events, symbols and people. After researching images from across the state, Prismacolor pencil techniques were used to render detailed drawings. Each clear globe ornament will display an original work of art showcasing the unique heritage of our state as well as the creative efforts of some of our district’s most talented students and teachers.
