Orem Junior High School Drawing Class
Utah’s ornaments were created and designed by 9th grade students from Orem Junior High School. The students were influenced by Utah’s diversity of landscape and individual interests. The students were allowed to make their own choices in the creation of the ornaments instead of just having just one theme. For instance, students made their own choice in imagery, media and material to fit their vision of what living in Utah means to them. Some picked the recent Comic Con convention, while others worked with the ideas of Utah’s magnificent landscape, and states symbols like the seagull. The students truly enjoyed the examination into what their state means to them and learning more about their state's symbolism. It was a great adventure for all and we had fun creating a glimpse of what Utah means to some of the young people that live here.
