Washington, DC paper ornaments were created by 5th grade students from DC Bilingual Public Charter School. The inspiration came from DC’s row-house architectural styles and the people who live in the District. The lesson integrated artistries from various trades, such as architect drafting, contractor constructing, and designer painting. Furthermore, students incorporated the people’s individuality onto the buildings, making each model unique. Like the District, DC Bilingual is a diverse community who, whether they were born here or immigrated, have incorporated and contributed to DC’s character.
