Oklahoma's ornaments were created by children in Art Therapy who are in oncology treatment. Because as Oklahomans we believe our greatest resources are within us, each child chose a word that means something special to them. Some of the words are "joy, faith, brave, hope, family." The words were painted onto red, heart shaped ornaments, then covered in glitter and suspended with black and white check ribbon. Children participating in the project came from all over the state to work on the ornaments in the Art Therapy wing at the Jimmy Everest Cancer Center at OU Health Science Center. They were assisted by Tri Delta Fraternity, with active collegiate members coming from both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University to help, as well as Oklahoma City area alumnae.
