Virginia’s ornaments were designed by Lynn Hilton Conyers, a career long educator and award winning ceramic artist. The original design was adapted by the Teen Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Waynesboro. The Teen Center serves at-risk middle and high school students in Waynesboro. They worked with Mrs. Conyers and other Shenandoah Valley Art Center artists Joyce Anderson and Pat Garnett to create brightly colored ceramic stars. The star motif was chosen to represent the fact that, despite differences, we are all united by the humanity of living under the same sky.
